Maritime Rescue International

AFRAS has a close and continuing relationship with Maritime Rescue International (MRI) in Stonehaven, Scotland. By special arrangement with the MRI, AFRAS sponsors a 38-foot rigid hull inflatable declared search and rescue boat. MRI provides crew and full operational support for the vessel in exchange for being able to use it in MRI's commercial sea rescue training programs. MRI also agrees to make these training courses available to members of AFRAS at reduced rates. Further, MRI has contributed much technical research to AFRAS which has been made available to rescue agencies worldwide.
