Virgin Islands Search and Rescue (VISAR)

VISAR's relationship with AFRAS began in 1992 when VISAR contacted AFRAS seeking information and advice. Following the severe damage of the organization's only dedicated lifeboat in 1993, financial support was also forthcoming. Since then the relationship between VISAR and AFRAS has grown steadily, with AFRAS assisting in the funding of a headquarters and base station and other projects and advising on a variety of issues. Currently AFRAS is helping VISAR to realize the funds necessary to build a second boathouse.
